As a reminder, the theme for the 2010 Chapter G Circle Tour is Wet and Wonderful Wisconsin, and the tour officially ends at our October Social. Participants in the 2010 Circle Tour may visit any or all towns on the tour and answer the question about something found in each town. One playing card will be drawn for each correct answer by each person who has participated in the tour. The total point value of each hand will be determined by adding the value of all cards drawn. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The cash value of each place will be determined after the total number of entries is known. If a tie occurs, the total cash value of the appropriate place will be divided equally between all entrants who are tied for that place. The answers to tour questions will be verified and card hands drawn at the October social. Our mileage contest officially ends at our September social when ending miles will be read. If you are not able to attend the social, you will need to contact either the Chapter Directors or the Chapter Educators to arrange to have your miles read. This year’s mileage contest will be the same as last year. For every 1000 miles ridden, you will receive one ticket, so the more miles you rode, the more tickets you will receive. Please remember that you must have attended four chapter events to qualify for the contest. Tickets will be drawn at our October social. You do not need to be present to win. Thanks to everyone who participated! The Ride for Kids, benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, August 1, with the help of the motorcycling community and riders, raised over $107,000. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the police escorted ride through the Wisconsin countryside continues to be by far one of the best rides we have ever been on. There were several hundred bikes, all makes and models, and GWRRA chapters were well represented. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday, going on a great ride (through stop signs and stop lights) and raising money for such a worthy cause. We were treated to donuts and coffee in the morning, a bag lunch during the celebration of life program, and custard from Culvers to end the day. The MS 150 Best Dam Bike Ride 2010, August 7-8, Waukesha to Whitewater to Madison was an unforgettable weekend (even taking into account the rain, wind, and lightning) raising to date $1,011,832.72. Chapter G, as in past years, supported the Best Dam Bike Ride by volunteering their time in support of the riders along with a cash donation. As always, remember it’s not about the destination, it’s about the ride, so please ride safe!
