Greetings from Chapter F

With the start of September, the end of the riding season is drawing near and so is our time as Chapter Directors.  Kathy and I have met and made so many friends around the state.  On July 24, was at Vetesniks shopping and so many people came up to me and said hello and the ladies gave me hugs.  So many that one of the sales people asked how I knew all these people.  I replied through GWRRA and some of us are from the same chapter, Chapter F, from Racine and Kenosha.

Way back in July, nine members of Chapter F rode out to the western part of Colorado on a 12-day trip and it only rained part of 3 days.  We had a great time.  Two of the things that we wanted to see had construction going on.  Mesa Verdi had long waits in the hot sun because of the road work going on and the Four Corners Monument was closed down completely.  We did save 3/4 of the state for other rides in the future.  If you are in Glenwood Springs, CO, stay at the Cedar Lodge & Motel.  They have picnic tables and gas grills that you can use and a supermarket is across the street.  When in Grand Junction, CO, stay at the Quality Inn just off I-70.  They have a great restaurant and the breakfast was more than a continental breakfast.  The room was more than I would have dreamed about.  If you ever get there, tell Rick that I sent you.  I owe Rick big time for the service that the hotel gave us.  When I booked the motels, I got the best rates when I said GWRRA plus I asked, "Is this your best rate?"  Only one motel said yes and I called the motel across the street and got a lower rate.

September 29 will be our last Wednesday night Ice Cream Ride this year.  All of our rides leave from Hwy 31 and Hwy E in Kenosha at 6:30 with a full tank of gas and be ready to ride.
